Pack 3025 Parents Meeting

1) Meeting called to order by

Cubmaster
The pack will need to start planning for Spring Carnival at St. Eds on May 5 at
5:30 pm. Jeff will get the particulars
of the event, and the group will need to determine what type of activity to
sponsor.

Secretary
·
Review
pack schedule for next 3 months. A food
drive will be added to the April 1 pop can fundraiser, and a Food Bank Service
project will be added for April 8. The
Spring Carnival will be added to the schedule when the date is known.
·
Health
forms still needed for 6 cub scouts - Please complete them and either bring
them to the next meeting or send to St. Eds school in an envelope addressed to
Stephanie Klaren.
·
Treasurer
Pack financial report. The pack has a
bank balance of $2427.57, comprised of $1672.28 in the general fund and $755.29
in Scout accounts. Income from the
February pop can drive was $293.
· March 5 Pinewood Derby, Blue/Gold Banquet, and Friends of Scouting, report. The combined event was well attended and went very well. Congratulations to Pack 3025 Pinewood Derby champion Aidan Mayer!
· April 8 - River Valley District Pinewood Derby. 1:00 PM at Scheels in Cedar Falls. Rules are posted on our pack web site for this optional activity. Entry for Pack winners is free, everyone else $3.
· April 29-30 Spring Fling Cubservation, a conservation-themed weekend day camp, update. Registration $50 per scout or non-scout youth, $10 per adult. Although this will not be a pack activity, interested cub scouts and pack dens are encouraged to attend. Register online at http://www.winnebagobsa.org/Event.aspx?id=3129, or contact Chris Klaren at cklaren1@mchsi.com to register if your scout has funds in his scout account.
· May 12-14 Spring campout, update. Planning will need to get underway shortly for the 2 night campout at Maquoketa Caves.
· Summer 2017 Day camp, what do we want to target for pack group activities? There are a number of different day camps being offered (shooting, horseback riding, etc.) and we will need to start discussions next month so that reservations can be made.

Chaplain
Religious awards,
update. Many of the scouts received
recognition for completion at the Blue/Gold banquet, and a few more need to
finish the workbook. Matt has the forms
to submit to the diocese for the medals.

Training
· The Cub Scout leader and committee training expected in March did not materialize. No such training is in the 6 month calendar.
· BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) training scheduled for April 22 at First Christian Church in Cedar Falls. BALOO is highly recommended for our leaders, as there must be at least one BALOO-trained leader at each of our campouts. Contact Chris to register.

March 4 pop can drive,
report: Can drive went well, we expect
to net about $304. It was asked if can
drive notifications have been getting in the church bulletins, and no one
present was able to answer. Next planned
can drive is April 1.

Table Update Round table
report from March 9:

On-Line
registration for new scouts and adults. Most
of round table was concerned with the council releasing online registration for
new scouts and adults in early April.
This is a feature that has been asked for quite some time. We are in the process of updating our online
pack information to participate. Online
registration is only for new scouts and adults, not those that submit an
application to change positions in the pack.

River
Valley Fun Day at the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls on
Saturday, May 13th
·
Scout
Night with the Waterloo Bucks is on Saturday, July 22nd. Ticket order deadline Fri July 15

District
dinner is on Sunday March 26. Please
come help us celebrate our outstanding adult leadership and the Class of 2016
Eagle Scouts! Dinner is $12/person and $5 for children 12 and under. Register
by March 22.

parents meeting Monday, April 17, 2017 at The O.P. (on Ridgeway Ave across from
West High), meeting starts at 7:30 PM.
