Treasurer

Pack financial report: The pack’s bank
accounts total $2486.81, comprised of $1720.39 in the general fund and $766.42
in scout accounts. These amounts do
reflect all income but only some of the expenses for the Pikes Peak
campout. Since the April 17 parents
meeting, the pack had income of $227 from the pop can drive. Parents, please submit receipts for food from
the May campout for reimbursement as soon as possible.
· May 23 (Tues) - Emergency Services Spring Recruitment, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, 5:30-7:30, report. The event had a number of interesting exhibits for the scouts in attendance, although the helicopter landing did not occur due to it being needed for emergency transport. Leaders attending thought it would be worth going again if offered in the future. We did get some ideas that might help us for recruiting next fall.
· June activity – As discussed previously, the June activity will be held on June 18 at ST. Edwards School.
· Pack meeting at the pool July 9 – Via email, Andy had proposed a pool part at the Splash pool on July 9. The group agreed that this would be a fun activity for the pack.
· July 22 - Scout night at the Waterloo Bucks is the pack’s July activity. Overnight campout on the outfield. $12 gets a ticket, meal voucher for hot dog, bag of chips, and drink, campout and watch the Minions movie on the field after the game, fireworks, and breakfast in the morning. Game-only reserved seat is $6. Deadline to order tickets is July 15th. We will send an email in a week or two to begin registration. Click here for the flier.
· August activity – geocaching, gaga ball, canoeing, camping, hiking, and twilight camp were some of the ideas discussed. This will be finalized at the July meeting.
· Pack Activity Plan for Sep 2017 – Aug 2018. The current year activity plan was reviewed briefly, with the intent to modify it at the July meeting for the upcoming year so that it is ready for recruiting in September.
·
Advancement
– A number of Wolf and Bear
scouts received their badges at the last pack meeting. Many of the Tigers will receive a badge at an
upcoming meeting.
·
Service Projects
·
Pop can
tabs for Ronald McDonald House, report.
The boys collected pop can tabs at the June can drive.
·
Chaplain
– Religious awards,
update. Matt and the den leaders have
been in contact to determine the status of each boy that were working on their
awards.
·
Training – There are two
on-line training sessions available for water safety. This needs to be completed by at least one
adult leader so that swim tests can be performed at the July 9 pool party.
·
Equipment
–
The gaga ball pit needs to be painted to prevent deterioration due to
weathering. An outside organization has
requested use of the gaga bill pit, but has been tabled for the time being.
·
Fundraising
– June
3 pop can drive, report. The can drive brought in 11 bags of cans, 9
bags of plastic bottles, and 14 boxes of glass bottles, with an expected income
of $239. The next can drive is July 8.
·

Round
Table Update – No round
table meetings scheduled in June or July.
5) Old
Business

·
Summertime
pack award. Leaders will need to keep
track of scout, sibling, and adult attendance at the summer activities so that
the pack can submit applications for awards after the August activity.
6) New
Business
·
Insulated
cups to replace disposable water bottles at campouts – the group selected two
water bottle designs to get cost and availability information for an upcoming
meeting.
·
Centralized
communications – Matt discussed some ideas that were used with his former
pack. They used a single email account
that one person working in conjunction with the Cubmaster to insure that
everyone heard from one voice in the pack.
Matt will bring some more information to the next parents meeting.
·
Fall
recruiting – need to start the planning process with an activity plan and
operating budget. The group will be
working on the activity plan at the next meeting, and Chris will bring back a
proposed operating budget based on the last 12 months of the pack’s finances.
