·         Membership – update

·         Fall recruiting – An activity plan and operating budget for 2017/2018 were reviewed and revised.  The group decided to not start a Lion den for kindergarteners this fall.  We have tentatively set the week of Aug 28 – Sep 1 for recruiting.  Chris will contact the council for a boy talk on Tuesday Aug 29 and Brian will need to contact Mr. Becker for a Aug 31 recruiting night.  We would like to have a poster board with photos of pack activities to show to the boys and their parents.

·         Round Table Update – No round table meetings scheduled in June or July.

5) Old Business

·         Class B shirts, update.  No report.

·         Insulated cups to replace disposable water bottles at campouts.  No report.

·         Centralized and dynamic communications.  No update.

·         Summertime pack award, update.  We are tracking scout participation for this award.  Scouts meeting the guidelines of attendance at a pack activity each month will qualify for a Summertime Pack Award patch to be received some time after August.

6) New Business

·         The group had a discussion about charging everyone $20 at the start of the school year to cover costs for the pack to purchase neckerchiefs and handbooks for the boys as they advance into their new dens.  Likewise, this extra $20 would be assessed to new scouts also to make sure everyone receives these items on a timely basis.  This measure was approved as it is the same cost incurred by the parent for these items, and eliminates the need for many individual trips to the scout shop to purchase them.

7) Announcements

·         Next parents meeting Monday, August 14, 2017 at The O.P. (on Ridgeway Ave across from West High), meeting starts at 7:30 PM.

8) Adjournment – Upon having completed the evening’s business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:08 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,

Chris Klaren
