from the last 2 pop can drives as they have not been received yet (approximate combined

· Pinewood Derby car cut-out days, report. John Henry had one scout show up to work on his car. Other than a low turnout it went well.
· March 4 - Pinewood Derby & Blue/Gold banquet, and Friends of Scouting presentation, report. 107 scouts and family members showed up for the event. Overall everything went pretty well, all of the racers had a great time. Some things we might change for next year include repositioning the scouts during awards to facilitate pictures, and conducting awards and the Friends of Scouting presentation after everyone has been served in the food line.
· March 8 KWWL visit, report. Scouts and adults were treated to a very interesting tour, and the scouts and siblings enjoyed the green screen. Thank you John Henry for making the arrangements.
· April 28 1:00 PM River Valley District Pinewood Derby, College Square mall (west end), $5 per car. Click here for the event flier and rules.
· May 11-13 Pack campout at Backbone State Park, near Lamont, Iowa. Plans are being made for our spring campout and information will be shared as it becomes available.

include this age group for a new den in the pack next fall.
·
Girls in Cub Scouting what are the packs future
plans? John will set up discussions with
Father Scott and Mr. Becker for input from our chartering organization. We need to know by early July whether or not
to make this change for our pack.
·
Insulated
water canteens to replace disposable water bottles at campouts. Andy made a proposal to the pack to move this
forward, and will email details to the pack leadership for feedback before

Thank you Andy for your leadership and perseverance with this
environmental improvement for our campouts.

6) New
Business
·
Cub Scout residence camp, June 21-24, June 28-July 1
The council is offering three different 3 night campouts in June and early
July. Costs range from $125 to $175 per
scout depending on early or late registration.
While we would like to offer this to our Scouts, it requires leaders to
take at least one day of vacation in order to attend. Thus we are electing to not attend this year,
although we may consider day camps if they are offered.
