Pack 3025 Parents Meeting Notes

1) Call the meeting to order (Chair)

2) Attendees:  Jeff, Dave, Mike, John

3) Review of previous meeting minutes (Secretary)

4) Reports:

·         Cubmaster

·          

·         Secretary

·         Review pack schedule for next 3 months

o   Fall camping trip - Spooktacular campout weekend?   Football season conflicts?  No decision at this moment.  Need to iron out options.  Considering canceling summer pack campout.  In place having an early fall option for campout so new scouts can participate.

·         Treasurer – Pack financial report

·         A budget for the 12 months September 2018 through August July 2019 will be prepared and sent out a few weeks before the August parents meeting for review and approval at that meeting.

·         Outdoor/activities

·         Pack Pool Party at Splash Pool, July 15, report

o   7 scouts and families

·         Move to late September or earliest Oct - Pack campout Aug 17-19 – set destination, times, etc. (planning)

·         Advancement – advancement activities

·         Rank advancement Court of Honor July 1, report          

o   Rank up complete and distributed for boys who earned their next badges.

·         Service Projects

·         Pop can tabs for Ronald McDonald House, report.

o   Did not do tabs again

·         Chaplain – Religious awards, update (Mike)

o   Arrow of light will be doing Religious emblem.  Webelo’s will be doing this together.

·         Training – Updated youth production this fall with new recruits at Mike’s place.  Target September.

·         Equipment – Scout garage door not getting locked properly.  Dave to touch up the lock to latch smoother.

·         Fundraising – Last pop can drive, July 7, report.  Next planned August 11

·         Managing Elks parking lots for Irish Fest (discussion).  The pack will manage parking for the Elks Saturday, August 4, 8:30am to 3:00 pm.  An online signup sheet will set up and communicated to pack adults.

·         Distribution of proceeds from fund raising activities:  No plans on changing the allocation of funds from can drives and future fundraising.  When participation to the fundraising was more evenly distributed this can be revisied.

 

·         Membership – Working with St. Eds and Scout Office to set dates for fall recruiting.  Provisional plans are: send recruiting fliers home in express envelopes Aug 23; scout office to do a kindergarten through grade 5 “kid talk” for boys and girls on Monday Aug 27; hold our recruiting night in the school gym Tuesday Aug 28.  Dates will be added to the pack calendar when they are finalized.

 

 

·         Round Table Update – no round table scheduled for June or July

5) Old Business

·         Class B shirts (Brian)

6) New Business

·         Girl scouts possibly use the derby track during pinewood derby timeframe (the Saturday of the race).

7) Announcements      

·         Next parents meeting Monday, August 13, 2018 at The O.P. (on Ridgeway Ave across from West High), meeting starts at 7:30 PM.
