Pack 3025 Parents Meeting - AGENDA

This meeting was not held due to only two people in attendance.  Thank you to Mike Treinen and Chris Mayer for showing up!

 

1) Call the meeting to order (Chair)

2) Welcome and introduction of new members and guests (Chair)

·         Review pack schedule for next 3 months

o   When should we schedule recruiting?  This fall school starts Mon, Aug 26.  Last year school started Thurs, Aug 23 and we attempted to send out fliers that day, the council did the “kid talk” at assembly on Mon, Aug 27, and we had recruiting night on Tues, Aug 28.  This year Labor Day is the Monday following the first express envelope day.  How do we want to try to schedule recruiting?

·        Pack financial report:  The pack’s accounts total $6210.29, with sub accounts as follows:

               $3441.56      general fund

                   $10.00      savings

               $2320.96      scout accounts

                 $283.24      campership fund

                   154.53      Scout office unit account

Recent deposit is $354.17 for managing Elks parking at the My Waterloo Days parade.  Recent expense is $980.12 to transfer scout accounts to Troop 29 for our recent crossover scouts.172.90 for campout reimbursements, and $123.30 for campout food reimbursement.  We are waiting to receive both the May and June can drive checks, and estimated total of $810.  2 scout accounts are negative by $40 or more, and Chris will contact the parents to bring the accounts up to date.  Scout account balances can be found at http://troop1waterloo.org/1/pack25/ScoutAccounts.pdf.  Contact Chris Klaren for other details.

·         Reimbursement of Blue/Gold expenditures, how do we assign/fund?

·         Outdoor/activities

·         May 29, Wed, 4:00 pm, Sheriff’s office visit, report

·         July 26-28 – pack campout at Pinicon Ridge Park, Central City, IA, update

o   Meal obligations/assignments – which den is doing which meal(s)?

·         SPLASH pool party, when?

·         Advancement – advancement activities

·         Service Projects

·         Pop can tabs for Ronald McDonald House, on-hold.

·         Chaplain – Religious awards, update (Mike)

·         Training – BALOO training (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation), need at least 2 trained leaders at each pack outdoor event.  Need to watch for upcoming training opportunities.

·         Equipment

·         Fundraising – Pop can drives, report

o   May 11 final: waiting for check

o   June 1 report: Estimated check $415, estimated $27.67/scout; 10 scouts participating.  This is the best June ever, by about $30.

o   July 6 is next scheduled can drive

·         Elks parking for My Waterloo Days parade, report.  As reported in the treasurer’s report, the pack received #354.17 as their share of the total proceeds.  13 shifts were worked by the volunteers, and the accounts of the scouts of the volunteers will receive $13.63 for each shift worked.

·         Elks parking for Irish Fest, Sat, Aug 3, 8 AM – 2 PM, need 4 adults at all times, can schedule multiple shifts.  Do we want an additional block of time (Aug 3, 2 PM – 8 PM, or Fri 4-8)?

·         Membership

·         Recruiting for fall 2019 – time to start getting organized.

·         Round Table Update – Round table is hibernating for June and July, and will not meet again until August.
