Pack 3025 Parents Meeting

Monday, July 15, 2019

1) Meeting called to order by John Henry at 7:30 pm.

2) Attending:  John Henry; Chris Klaren; Michael Smith; Andy Wolter

3) Review of previous meeting minutes – May meeting minutes approved, June meeting canceled insufficient attendance.

4) Reports:

·         CubmasterMike is on vacation and unable to attend, but asked that the following be brought up.

·         We have had very few responses as to camping, some needing rides as well as from a couple of leaders’ families.  Please see if den leaders can get their own responses to me and perhaps “shake the trees” if they talk to their parents. I’ll be sending an email. I also need to find a ride for 2 boys, as I will not have room for them on this trip (I had already agreed to give my one spare space to another scout, whose mother asked first).

·         Meal responsibilities for campout:

Ø  Friday supper – Bears

Ø  Saturday breakfast – Webelos

Ø  Saturday lunch – Lions

Ø  Saturday supper – Wolves

Ø  Sunday breakfast – Tigers

·         Please encourage sign-ups among parents for August 3 parking at the Elks. This is how we avoid popcorn sales.

·         Secretary

·         Review pack schedule for next 3 months.  Schedule reviewed, John will explore potential service project opportunities with the Food Bank for later inclusion in the schedule.

·         Treasurer

o   May 11 final: check arrived June 19, $445.45, each of the 6 participating scouts received $49.49 in their scout accounts.

o   June 1 report: Estimated check $415, estimated $27.67/scout; 10 scouts participating.  This is the best June ever, by about $30.

o   July 6 report: We had a small crew and lots of bags, finishing at 11:30.  With a rough estimate on the number of bags, we are guessing the check will be $700, yielding $66/scout.  7 scouts (and 4 adults) participated.  This may almost double the previous best July ever, lst year at $381, and perhaps second best overall.

o   Next can drive August 10 (delayed one week due to Elks parking on Aug 3).

·         Elks parking for My Waterloo Days parade, report.  As reported in the treasurer’s report, the pack received #354.17 as their share of the total proceeds.  13 shifts were worked by the volunteers, and the accounts of the scouts of the volunteers will receive $13.63 for each shift worked.

·         Elks parking for Irish Fest, Sat, Aug 3, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM, need 4 adults at all times, can schedule multiple shifts.  Sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b054fa4ad23abf49-elks3.

5) Old Business

·         Class B shirts (Mike) – no report

6) New Business

·         What constitutes a quorum for a parents meeting to conduct pack business?  The group discussed the issue for the minimum number of people needed to conduct business at a parents meeting.  We settled on a minimum of 3 people, with at least two of them from the pack “Key 3” (Cubmaster, Committee Chair, and Chartered Organization Representative).  The Key 3 is currently Mike Treinen, John Henry, and Chris Klaren, respectively.

7) Announcements

8) Adjournment - Upon having completed the evening’s business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:13 pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
