1) Meeting called to order by
Matt Hennig at 7:05 pm.

3) Review
of previous meeting minutes
– July meeting minutes approved.
4) Reports:

Cubmaster
· Mike would like the pack leaders to participate in a group Youth Protection Training like we did 2 years ago. He will send a followup email after recruiting and the identification of new den leaders for the upcoming year.
· Everyone seemed to have a great time at the Backbone campout.
· Interested in recruiting plan details.
·
Secretary
· Review pack schedule for next 3 months. Due to the lack of cabins at Ingawanis, the November campout has been rescheduled to Oct 2-4, location TBD.
· Health forms, update: Updated health forms will be needed from all current and new scouts.
·

Pack financial report: The pack’s accounts total $15,784.28, with
sub accounts as follows:

Since the last parents meeting, we have
realized income of $1541 and $1995 in 2 pop can checks, and expenditures of
$237 for campout expenses.

Outdoor/activities
· July 24-26 - Cub Scout campout, Backbone State Park, report. Really good campout, the kids seemed to have a lot of fun.
· Sep 12 - Young Eagles flights, 8:00 am to noon, Waterloo Airport, ages 8-17, free! This is for ages 8-17, and has been popular with our older scouts the last few years. More info and online registration at https://youngeaglesday.org/?yedetail&event=7aXwHVd7l

Advancement – update. No reports

Service Projects
· Update on food bank and other potential projects. Review next month.
·
Chaplain – Religious awards, update. Review next month.
·
Training – BALOO training, September 11-12.
BALOO training may not be available due to health concerns with the
district trainer. Matt will check to
determine the status; Safe Swim defense available online. Many leaders will need Youth Protection
Training later this fall, Mike will set a date.
·
Equipment – LP heated griddle/grill, update.
Instead of 1 larger griddle, the pack was able to purchase two smaller
ones, with more total cooking area, and they apparently performed well at the
Backbone campout. We are waiting for
covers to arrive to complete the project.

Membership
·
Update –
current roster: 33 youth (-7 since last month, crossover scouts removed) and 11
adults (no change)
·
Recruiting
plan & activities. Matt is having
discussions with St. Eds to see what is feasible for recruiting
activities. Matt will follow up in a
week.

Round Table Update – At virtual Round Table on Aug 19:
·
Jim Madison
discussed the membership fee increases effective Aug 1, noting that all fees go
to BSA national, and none are retained by the local council. The council has the authority to collect additional
fees but so far has been able to fund their operations with fundraisers and
contributions.
·
The
Winnebago Council has a YouTube channel where they host many videos. Videos from virtual summer camps will be available
later this fall.
·
Scouting.org
has leader resources for covid-19.
·
Ingawanis
is reopening. Guidelines limit total
camp occupancy to 50 people. Only 1
person per tent is allowed at this time.
Cabins are not available for use at this time.
5) Old Business
·
Class B
shirts, update. We will wait for
recruiting to be completed before making an order for the shirts.
6) New Business
·
Policy
for borrowing pack equipment. A recent
request regarding the availability of pack equipment by a pack member was
received. We currently have no
policy. Troop 1 had a policy and form that
provided guidelines. Chris will send the
Troop 1 form to Mike for review and recommended changes. This item to be reviewed next month.
·
Meeting
location plan – are school or church facilities available. We are not certain that school facilities
will be available for us to use for meetings.
Mike will check with the school and church to see what our options are.
7) Announcements
· Next parents meeting Monday, September 14, 2020 at TBD, meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
8) Adjournment - Upon having completed the evening’s
business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:40 pm.
