Next can
drive May 1, 2021 |
· The group had lengthy discussion regarding the current state of the extremely successful pop can fundraiser. There is a general concern that the volume of cans and bottles exceeds the volunteer base that staffs it, and that over time less people will take the time to help. To reduce the volume, we will limit advertising to the Kingsley group on NextDoor, while continuing notification in the church bulletin. Bar cans and bottles will be sorted when they are picked up, reducing volume that needs to be double handled the day of the can drive. This situation will continue to be monitored to see what additional adjustments may be necessary.

5) Old Business
·
Class B
shirts, update. Matt received the shirts,
sorted, and then distributed at the April 11 cub scout meeting. Scout accounts have been charged for hoodies
and extra shirts ordered by families.
·
Leader
name tags, update. Matt received the leader name tags and has been distributing them to the leaders.
6) New Business
·
Request
for CVCS Ultimate Auction donation, report.
Matt donated the contents of the basket that reportedly received a high
bid of $270. This will help fund the mission
of Cedar Valley Catholic Schools.
·
Pop can
drive shares for adults & scouts. When
covid impacted the pack in spring 2020 and scouts were not allowed to help with
can drives, scout account shares of the proceeds were based on the adults that
participated. Now that scouts are
helping with the can drives, the group has decided to base scout account shares
on the participating scouts and adults (18+).
Siblings are welcome to help, but will not
count towards scout account shares.
·
Bank account
authorized persons. The pack bank
account at Veridian Credit Union currently has John Henry and Chris Klaren as
authorized signatories. As John Henry is
no longer with the pack (his son crossed over to Troop 29), the group is
authorizing 3 signatories for the account:
Matt Hennig, Chris Klaren, and Mike Treinen. We will work with Veridian to make this
change as soon as practical.
·
Quarterly Journey to Excellence review. The criteria for Journey to Excellence was
briefly reviewed, and we are making progress in areas we previously identified
as opportunities for improvement (service projects, day camps).
7) Announcements
· Next parents meeting Monday, May 17, 2021 at 1850 Patio & Grill, meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
8) Adjournment - Upon having completed the evening’s business, the
meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Chris Klaren
