Since the last parents meeting, we had income of $2434 in 2 pop can checks, $22 in donations at pop cans, $60 in campout fees paid, and expenditures of $442 for campout food & supplies, $45 in awards and program support, $346 for scout account reimbursements, $118 in pop can drive expenses, $46 for PWD supplies.
· Proposed budget for Sep 2021 – Aug 2022. The proposed budget follows at the end of these meeting minutes. It assumes a conservative income from the pop can drives while still meting planned expenditures. As the scouts’ share of the pop can drives easily exceeds the cost of rechartering and providing handbooks, the pack will not be subsidizing existing members’ dues this fall. The proposal was reviewed and approved by the group.
·
Outdoor/activities
· June 12-13 – Cub Scout day camp at Ingawanis Adventure Base. At least 8 scouts from the pack attended and had a great time. The pack will promote this more next year.
· June 13 - Arrow of Light Crossover for Webelos 2’s, report. 3 of our scouts crossed over into Scouts BSA. The ceremony was very nice and well done. Congratulations to the 3 new boy scouts and their leader Chris Mayer!
· July 30 – Aug 1 – Pack campout at Maquoketa Caves State Park, update. Are looking at a small group leaving early for early setup on Friday, with the main group leaving at 5:15 or so.
·
Advancement – advancement reports. If they haven’t already done so, dens are
finishing up their advancement activities.
·
Service Projects
· Irish Fest service project, update (conflict with pop can drive). Given the likely cleanup activities that may not be age appropriate for our cub scouts and conflict with our can drive, the pack will not be participating.
· Canned food to be collected at a fall pop can drive
·
Chaplain – Religious awards, update. 1 award still needs to be submitted, and are
waiting for 4 others to be completed.
·
Training – Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) being planned for
September 17-18. We need more BALOO
trained leaders to support our outdoor activities.
·
Equipment – Mike and Ron found some aluminum roll up tables in the garage that can
be used. There are a few items needing
repair before the Maquoketa Caves campout.
·
Fundraising – Pop cans, update
