Since the last parents meeting, we had income of $2009 in 2 pop can checks, and expenses of $175 for cabin rental for November campout, $183 in scout account reimbursements, $14 in awards, and $1552 scout account transfer to Troop 29.  Recharter escrow consists of 2021-2022 pack dues debited from scout accounts.

·         2021-2022 dues:  Dues have been debited from all scout accounts, $89 for dens grade 1-5, $72 for grade 5 Webelos 2’s (they don’t need a new handbook), plus an additional $12 if the scouts are currently receiving Scout Life magazine.  As a result, 16 scout accounts are negative and need to be brought up to date.  Please check your scout account balances at http://pack3025waterloo.org/ScoutAccounts.pdf and bring payment to the next meeting.

·         Outdoor/activities

·         Pack visit to National Guard Armory – will update in October

·         September 18 - Wild Wonders Day Camp, 8:00am – 3:00pm, Tosanak Recreation Center, Marble Rock

·         September 18 – Young Eagles flights, 8:00 am to noon, Waterloo Airport, ages 8-17, free! Rides given first come, first served.  This is for ages 8-17, and has been popular with our older scouts the last few years. More info and registration at https://youngeaglesday.org/?yedetail&event=7mWzch7XX

·         October 23 - Spooktacular!  Ingawanis Adventure Base, more information TBD

·         November 5-7 - Pack Campout, cabins at Ingawanis Adventure Base, update.  Meal and activity planning will begin soon.  Elliot will be the base cabin due to the covered shelter nearby.

·         November 20 - Scout Night at the UNI Dome, Northern Iowa vs. Western Illinois, 1:00 PM, $10 per ticket.  Register at https://mycouncil.winnebagobsa.org/Event/4826.  Registration ends Nov 10.  Previous emails from Chris with a Sep 10 end date were in error.  Another email will be sent to the pack when registration settles down.

·         Advancement – advancement reports (refer to Cubmaster report)

·         Service Projects

·         Do we intend to hold a fall canned food drive concurrent with a pop can drive?  Given the size of our can drives currently, we don’t believe we can adequately staff a canned food drive at the same time.  We will defer this to next spring.

·         Chaplain – Religious awards, update.  We have 1 more award from last year that should be arriving soon.  We intend to give the Bear den an opportunity to earn the Light of Christ medal.

·         Training – Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) being planned for September 24-25, Ingawanis Adventure Base.  Register at https://mycouncil.winnebagobsa.org/Event/4803.  $25 registration fee will be paid by the pack.

·         Equipment – we believe we are in good shape at this time

·         Fundraising – Pop cans, update.  September was a monster can drive, which we attribute to not having a can drive in August and with recent Labor Day weekend perhaps contributing to extra beverage consumed.

5) Old Business

·         Volunteers for can drives.  The September can drive was woefully short of volunteers needed to process the cans and bottles we received.  We discussed several ways of either limiting cans or increasing volunteers, and decided to see what amount of cans and bottles are received at the October and November drives before taking action.

6) New Business

·         No new business

Respectfully Submitted,

Chris Klaren
