Pack 3025 Parents Meeting

1) Meeting called to order by Chris Klaren at 7:00 PM

3a) Review previous meeting minutes December minutes approved

3b) Approve agenda – agenda for this meeting reviewed and approved

4) Reports:

·         Pack business – The pack has rechartered with Peoples Appliance as our new chartering organization.  We will continue to meet at the Elks Lodge for cub scout meetings.  Once the change in chartering organizations is fully processed, we will resume discussions with St. Eds to meet at the school and hold our can drives.

·         Cubmaster – comments in other agenda items

·         Secretary

·         Review pack schedule for next 3 months.  No changes to the schedule were made, although after the meeting the pinewood derby was moved from March 20 to April 3 at BMAP’s request.

·         Quarterly Journey to Excellence review.  The pack scored very well in the final worksheet submitted at recharter, earning gold for the year.  Congratulations to the pack leadership and parents for their efforts in maintaining a well-run cub scout program for our scouts.  There is no form listed for 2022, so we will continue to use the 2021 criteria in 2022 until notified otherwise.

Since the last parents meeting, we had income of $831 in pop can receipts and $100 reimbursement to scout accounts.  Expenses were $3171 for recharter fees and $24 for Christmas party food & drink.  A $2335 transfer from scout accounts to campership fund was made for scouts that chose not to continue with scouting.

·         Outdoor/activities

·         December 19 - Pack Christmas party, report.  Everyone seemed to have a good time with the games and treats!

·         February 19 – Klondike Derby, Camp Ingawanis (Webelos)

·         February 26 – Polar Bear, Camp Ingawanis.  Information and registration info at https://mycouncil.winnebagobsa.org/Event/4943

·         April 3 – Pinewood Derby, update.  After this meeting, the date was moved to April 3.

·         Pack visit to National Guard Armory, does March 23 and 24 work for them?  Update.  Ron will confirm that these dates work for the National Guard.

·         Advancement – advancement reports.  We need to look at setting a date for crossover.

·         Service Projects

·         Chaplain – Religious awards, update.  No change

·         Training – Nothing scheduled on the council website.  Need to watch and see when BALOO will be scheduled this spring.

·         Equipment

·         Fundraising – Pop cans, update

·         After recharter, our current roster is: 32 youth active, 2 inactive (-16); 12 adults active, 0 inactive (no change)

5) Old Business

·         Recharter, update.  Completed the recharter on-line Jan 6, $3171 fees paid the next day.

6) New Business

·         Pinewood Derby – A small Waterloo pack asked to borrow our track.  We declined, due to the support required to properly set up, operate, and tear down.  However, we have invited them to participate with us on our day.  They will need to follow our rules, race with our scouts, and provide their own separate awards.
Car cut-out days are tentatively scheduled for Fri Feb 18, Sat Feb 26, and Sat March 5 at Chris Steies’ shop on 18th Street.

7) Announcements      

·         Next parents meeting Monday, February 14, 2022 at 1850 Patio & Grill, meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
