Pack 3025 Parents Meeting

4) Reports:

·      Cubmaster

·         Pack leadership update – the Tiger den is in search of a leader, and potential candidates will be approached.

·      Secretary

·         Review pack schedule for next 3 months.  The fall campout is scheduled for November 5, replacing the originally scheduled meeting for that date.  The November 4 can drive is canceled due to the campout.

·         Treasurer

·         Pack financial report:  As of August 14, the pack’s accounts totaled $29,971.37, with sub accounts as follows:

Since July 16, we had income of $846 in 1 pop can checks.  Expenses were $57 in scout account reimbursements, $89 for campout expenses, $29 for program materials, $17 for advancement awards, and $10 for gaga ball pit parts.  Our can redemption center owes the pack $948 for 2 truckloads of returnables from July 31 and August 8.

·         Negative scout accounts.  There are currently 7 negative scout account due to next year’s fees being assessed.  Families will be contacted prior to the next meeting.

·         Outdoor/activities

·         July 21-23 – Pack campout, report.  It was a great campout , the weather was good, the campsite at Rock Creek State Park was great, and the mosquitos were almost non-existent.

·         Advancement

·         No report

·         Service Projects

·         Chaplain – Religious awards, update.  Webelos are targeting Aug 20 10:30 mass for Fr. Bullock to sign the completed Parvuli Dei booklets.

·         Training – Leader specific training is scheduled for Sat., Sep 30th at First Christian Church in Cedar Falls.  Training will be held for Cubmaster, Committee Chair, Committee Member, Den Leaders, and Charter Organization Rep.  Cost is $5, with an additional $5 for lunch (both paid by the pack for pack attendees).  Register at https://mycouncil.winnebagobsa.org/Event/5376/Register.

·         Equipment – One or more shelving units in the trailer need repair or replacement before the next campout.

·         Membership –

·     Roster:  33 youth/23 active, (-4 active from last month), 12 adults/10 active (no change)

·     Recruiting plan – Recruiting night is planned for Thursday, Aug 31 near the scout garage.  The council will have a representative to talk to the students at an all-school assembly at St. Eds on Aug 29.

·         Fundraising – Pop cans, update

5) Old Business

·         Canteens, update, no report

·         Recharter, update.  The recharter will be submitted the week of Aug 31.

6) New Business

·         Matt purchased a number of inexpensive fishing tackle boxes for use at future campouts, and will invoice the pack for the cost.

7) Announcements

·         Next parents meeting Monday, September 18, 2023 at 1850 Patio & Grill, meeting starts at 7:00 PM.

8) Adjournment – Upon having completed the evening’s business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:53 PM.
