Pack 3025 Parents Meeting

4) Reports:

·      Pack Leadership Update – Volunteers have been provisionally identified to fill the treasurer and charter organization representative positions.  Still seeking a new secretary for the pack.

·      Cubmaster – comments made as part of other agenda items

·      Secretary

·         Review pack schedule for next 3 months.  The Aug 18 pack meeting was cancelled and the Halloween party scheduled for the Oct 20 pack meeting.

·         Treasurer

·         Pack financial report:  As of August 11, the pack’s accounts totaled $26,877.58, with sub accounts as follows:

Since July 14, the pack received income of $1026 in 1 pop can check and $20 in cash at the can drive.  Expenses were $3603 to transfer 5 crossover scout accounts to Troop 29, and $380 for reimbursable campout expenses for food & supplies.  Scout accounts were debited a total of $1560 and transferred to the pack renewal escrow account which will be needed later this month.  Our can redemption center owes the pack $2479 for 5 truckloads of returnables from July 10 through August 8.

·      Outdoor/activities

·         July 19-21 Summer campout @ Backbone State Park, report.  A relatively small group of 9 children and 6-7 parents enjoyed a great weekend of weather and activities.  Lots of help at mealtime made for easy work for all involved.

·         November cabin campout, planning.  Nov 8-10 is scheduled for the campout and Chris will reserve the 5 cabins at Ingawanis for the pack’s use.

·      Advancement – Last year’s Tiger den will be completing their work for advancement very soon.

·      Service Projects – no report

·      Chaplain – Religious awards, update.  This year’s Bear den has a few requirement to complete for their Light of Christ award.

·         Training – BALOO training Sep 27-28 at Ingawanis.  No other Cub Scout leader training on council calendar for the next 6 months

·      Equipment – a few parts are needed for the Blackstone grills, and some new long utensils are needed.  Brock will pick these up.

·      Membership

·      Roster:  26 youth/18 active, 11 adults/10 active.

·         Recruiting – planning update.  Events are on the calendar.  All leaders, if possible, please plan to attend the Tuesday recruiting night to meet with parents and conduct activities for the kids.

·         Fundraising – Pop cans, update

·         Round Table Update – Matt & Brock attended the August round table that had a heavy emphasis on recruiting and on having current health forms for youth and leaders at all scout events..  Matt’s summary follows at the end of these minutes.

5) Old Business

·         Renewal – update.  We have some negative scout accounts as a result of being debited for next year’s national and council fees.  The families of these scouts are being contacted to ascertain their commitment to continuing scouting in the next school year.
     We think we have a handle on how the new online renewal process should work.  This will be put to the test before the end of this month.

6) New Business

·         No new business was discussed.

7) Announcements

·         Next parents meeting Monday, September 16, 2024 at 1850 Patio & Grill, meeting starts at 7:00 PM.

8) Adjournment – Upon having completed the evening’s business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:14 PM.

Hello, as mentioned in my last email I will be unable to attend the next parents meeting. I was able to attend the Round table meeting with Brock on Thursday. I typed out some notes from the round table meeting that can be discussed in the Round Table meeting portion of the agenda during the parents meeting Monday in my absence.
