Pack 3025 Parents Meeting

Monday, August 18th, 2025, 7:00 PM

1) Meeting called to order by Committee Chair Matt Kauten at 7:01 PM

2) Attending: Matt Kauten;  Mason Moore; Nathan Leonard; Lester Venz; Brock Weliver; Jeff Mastin;Tim Fautcher, Nathan Leonard;

3) Review previous meeting minutes and approve/revise this meeting’s agenda

4) Reports:

·      Cubmaster - Brock will be contacting Toni at St. Edwards to request key fob access for Pack meetings and Scout Garage can drives

·      Charter Org Representative - Jeff proposed a joint Scout Fun Day with Troop 29 and Pack 3025 at Palmer's fun center, likely on October 12th. Date TBD.

·       Review Calendar - Pack calendar was approved

·      Outdoor/activities

·      November Cabin Date Set for November 7-9 - Pack Campout, Cabin Camping at Ingawanis Adventure Base - Waverly, Iowa - Lester has reserved 5 cabin sites.

·      Bucks Game Report - Buck's Game was overall a great event. We had 26 attendees and scouts and families had a great time.

·      Service Projects

·      Waterloo Veterans Memorial Report - Went well and was attended by both the pack and troop. Sept 6 Rededication.

·     Advancement - Den Advancement Scoutbook, New Den Workbook Purchases - New Workbooks will be purchased at scout shop by Den leaders.

·      Training

·      Upcoming Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (Baloo) Leader Training Hawkeye Counsil & Winnebago Council - Nathan has signed up, looking for additional leaders to sign up if interested. Brock will be unable to attend due to a family event.

·      Equipment

·     Steve Lathrop 3 Man Canoe Donation - Donating to the Troop

·      Fundraising / Secretary

·         Can Drive Updates - Volunteers for last can drive was a little lighter than usual. Finalizing scout account funds so we can update the website ahead of scout account renewals.

·         Popcorn Sales - Currently 4 scouts are signed up, Pack will get $1000 in popcorn inventory, we can return anything we don't sell. There is still time to sign up if your scout is interested. Sales begin September 4th.

·      Round Table

·         Website, Facebook Page, FB Advertising - We will continue to work on the facebook page but will not purchase FB advertising at this time.

·         Information on this year’s recruiting theme, Cub Scouts The Adventure Begins - A recruitment daycamp will be free for new scouts.  New Scouts who attend will receive a scouting backpack.

·      Membership

·         Roster:  22 youth/20 active, 11 adults/11 active

·        Recruiting Planning St Edwards - New parents night, and backpack night was well attended by many scouts, parents, and leaders. We have a number of families interested in joining. Mike T will compile photos for a slideshow for Recruitment Assembly at St. Edwards on September 29th.

5) Old Business

·         Recharter/Renewal - Recharter, update. The recharter will be submitted the week of Aug 31.Renewals will be done for all leaders and scouts this week as well.

6) New Business

·         New Pack Website - New pack website under contruction was previewed. New site uses a template available for scout website and will now be mobile friendly.

·         Revisit membership fees for upcoming school year - Pack will contribute $60 toward registration of existing or new scouts.

7) Announcements

·         Next parents meeting Monday, September 15th, 2025 at 1850 Patio & Grill, meeting starts at 7:00 PM.

8) Adjournment Upon having completed the evening’s business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:13 PM.
