to revise – motion to dispense of previous meeting minutes
4) Reports:

Cubmaster Succession planning update- Matt Bries & Nathan Leonard were both approached for taking over as Cub
Master.
- Following the previous Pack meeting Weliver, Bries, & Leonard
discussed the change of leadership moving forward. Leonard had agreed to
take the role as Cub Master with Bries assuming an Assistant Cub Master
position.
- New Can Coordinator will need to be filled – this will prevent
one leader taking on too many roles and distribute the responsibilities

Both Pack & Troop need to conduct an analysis of the joint can drive

Limited Troop participation is not benefiting Troop

Pack is seriously
considering cancelling Monday bar pick-ups
- Limited interest & limited
participation is burning out those who do participate
- This could be an
avenue for Troop to pursue
- Generates approximately $3,000 annually
- Pack could dial up advertisement for monthly can drives to make up for lost
revenue

Outdoor/activities
Scout Sunday Planning
- To be held Sunday Feb 8th at 10:30 Mass.
- Bries to check with Fr. Tom at upcoming Liturgical Meeting this Thursday
- Scouts to show up around 10:00 to help open doors
- Might consider handing out donuts afterwards
- Both could be considered service projects along with Duty to God requirements for advancement
Pinewood Derby Planning, Track Update, Trophies/Race Discussion
- Track was set up at Overhead Door
- Garage/car stopping section issues were solved
- Still having troubles with software/timer
- Leonard might have a solution and will have to get with Moore when he gets back in town
- If that doesn’t work, might have to get new timer
- Should try getting new cord first
- Approval from meeting attendees to spend money on new timer if solution mentioned above does not work
- All efforts to be made to get aluminum track operating this year
Pinewood Derby Cutout Planning
- Weliver getting membership again to Cedar Valley Makers Space for the months of February & March
- Pack cut out dates planned for 1st Pack meeting in March

This coincides with the annual Pack/BSA insurance renewal debacle and not being allowed to hold activities at St. Ed’s until the official paperwork is received and filed
- Meeting can be held at Makers Space during this time frame
- Weliver to check with Ellie Wiltgen and Mike Treinen about trophies
- Ellie made nameplates for trophies last year
- Mike repurposed trophies for awards

Calendar Next 3 Months
- The only updates through April would be the early March time frame and insurance debacle previously mentioned.
- March can drive will more than likely be cancelled
- First Pack meeting in March will likely need to be held off site
- This would be the Pinewood Derby cut out date
- May campout to be held on May 17th to avoid Mother’s Day conflicts
- This will also be the weekend for the 2nd Pack meeting
- Should consider cancelling Pack meeting as it will be held during campout
- Pine Lake and Rock Creek have been mentioned as possible sites for spring camp out

Service Projects - Bries mentioned that Brenton Kucera will be present at the Jan 18 Pack meeting to talk with Arrow Scouts – rest of Pack is welcome to join. Will be discussing Food Back service project.

Advancement
- Weliver & Bries have discussed late April crossover for Arrow Scouts

This would be the 2nd Pack meeting in April as a way of showing younger scouts their potential future in scouting
- Weliver to coordinate with Troop about formalities

Discussion had about having 2nd Pack meeting in April also serving as an awards night for all Dens as a way to showcase every scout’s achievements and issue achieved rank

- Motion made to cancel future bar pick-ups
- Mike Southall volunteered to find alternative ways to continue bar pick-ups
- Motion to cancel bar pick-ups tabled for now

Roster:
42 youth/40 active, 12 adults/12 active
- Quite a few of the newly registered scouts have only attended a few meetings, if that.
- Should consider reaching out to parents
- Parents should be getting email reminders plus mass text messages
5) Old Business

Text Message Reminders
- New text message system seems to be working fine – no issues reported yet
- Continue utilizing system for Pack meeting reminders and other important Pack information
- Keep messages to a minimum as to not pester parents

Insurance certificate for use of St. Edward facilities
